Tree Risk Assessment

The owner and/or occupier of land on which trees stand is liable for any loss or damage to persons or property caused by falling branches or the tree itself. While a rare occurrence anyone with responsibility for trees should put in place procedures to identify and manage risk.

Reasonable steps to manage and reduce risk and this includes identifying and inspecting those trees that might
cause injury or place property at risk. When hazardous trees are identified suitable remedial action must be taken to reduce risk/

We have over 60 years experience of delivering tree surveys and arboricultural consultancy in Sheffield and across the UK. Mike and Neil are both Professional Members of the Arboricultural Association (MArborA) and between them and the rest of the team we have surveyed, assessed or prescribed works to more than 100,000 trees.

Our approach is always to strive to get towards realistic and cost-effective tree protection and conservation, only prescribing tree surgery as a last resort. The Principal is a published arboriculturalist with over 35 years experience of advising on trees within historic landscapes.

Weddles have been heavily involved with sensitive historic restoration projects, usually requiring arboricultural appraisal and management. These projects are often associated with proposed work to Listed Buildings and in Conservation Areas. Local to our Sheffield office we have carried out tree surveys and advised on conservation at Stoke Hall in the Peak Park, Dore Parish Church, Broomhall in Sheffield and Moorhall in Ranmoor.
